Community is What Defines Montecito

The Montecito Journal, the Montecito Association and the 93108 Fund are three pillars of our community that are stepping in to keep us all connected and support our local businesses.

The 93108 Fund was originally established to support Hourly Wage Earners in Montecito, whose daily work lives were impacted by the devastating Thomas Fire and debris flow back in 2018.

Currently the 93108 Fund is helping frontline employees in Santa Barbara and Montecito who have been affected by the Covid-19 crisis. Using donations from the community, they are delivering "Debit Cards" to hourly wage earners to help provide financial relief. 100% of the donations go to hourly wage earners at businesses or households in Montecito. If you would like to donate to this worthy cause please visit their site here.

It Takes a Village to Save a Village!

In response to the economic crisis related to the Covid-19 pandemic, Montecito Journal, with help from the 93108Fund, the Coast Village Association and the Montecito Association, present Montecito’s May Day Virtual Cash Mob on Friday, May 1st, through Sunday, May 3rd.

Help bring economic relief to your favorite restaurant, boutique, gallery, and shop along Coast Village Road and in the Upper Village of Montecito. By purchasing a gift card from one or more of these local merchants, we can help ensure that our local businesses stay in business, until their doors can reopen and once again serve our community.

The celebratory spending weekend will culminate with a Montecito Community Zoom Happy Hour at 7 pm on Sunday, May 3rd, and if you spend $500 or more, your name will be entered into a raffle to win prizes from your favorite local merchants. Expect to see some local celebrities at the virtual happy hour who, along with the rest of us, are stepping up to help breathe energy into our local economy. Winners must be present on the Zoom call to win.

To participate, please visit 93108Fund.org beginning Friday, May 1 where you will find a list of participating merchants; it will be an easy process to choose your gift cards and check out, all in one central place. Monies received will go directly to the business owners, who will contact you and issue your gift card.

The Montecito Association sends regular timely and informative emails to all its members

keeping the community informed of all the news and events that impact us and specifically affect Montecito.

This community organization is a reliable resource for COVID updates, planning and development issues, and so many countywide matters that have a direct effect on our lives here in Montecito.
