Spotlight Architect - Jeff Shelton


Santa Barbara local, Jeff Shelton is known for his whimsical and uniquely beautiful, Mediterranean-inspired buildings around town. A 1983 graduate of the College of Architecture, Planning and Landscape Architecture at the University of Arizona, his local Santa Barbara roots are evident in his ability to weave the regional architecture with his own twists of colors, patterns and textures to create visually vibrant buildings. Shelton describes Santa Barbara as a grand fabric of white buildings and hopes that his buildings are adding “interesting little threads” into the Santa Barbara tapestry.

ARCHITECTURAL FEATURE: EL ANDALUZ


Completed in 2009, this three story Moroccan influenced building is home to seven chic and sophisticated condos, including 531 Chapala Street C, each featuring high ceilings, top of the line appliances, modern amenities and luxury finishes. El Andaluz is the winner of four Santa Barbara Beautiful awards for Architectural Feature, Commercial Building, Commercial Sign and Ornamental Gates. This award-winning luxury condominium complex is a true work of art bringing global influences to the heart of downtown Santa Barbara.
